The Helena Walking Mall is a significant part of Helena’s central business district (CBD) and its history. Last Chance Gulch is the name of the street, which has been built over Last Chance Creek. The creek is whenre gold was finally found and what put Helena on its course to become the State Capital.
The walking mall – and the streets and blocks adjacent to it – are a hive of entrepreneurial activity. No national chains, or big box stores are found downtown. The Helena CBD is made up of hard-working local folks. From breweries and bookstores to Middle-eastern rug shops and Yoga studios, Downtown Helena is a great place to enjoy small town living and he outdoors together.
